Course Summary

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply advanced knowledge and skills in a range of strategic
leadership and management roles. Individuals at this level make high level autonomous decisions and use initiative
and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions in varied contexts. They have
full responsibility and accountability for personal outputs and for the work or function of others.
They use cognitive and creative skills to review, critically analyse, consolidate and synthesise knowledge, in order to
generate ideas and provide solutions to complex problems. They use communication skills to demonstrate their
understanding of theoretical concepts and to transfer knowledge and ideas to others.

    The training program will be a maximum of 112 weeks inclusive of 18 weeks study break as programmed recreation and provision for intervention strategies.

    The program offers a mixed learning model with tutor support. The learning activities includes: scenarios, case studies, role plays, online practice tools, group discussions and projects, practical demonstrations, reflective journals, and simulations of real-life job task and will be self-directed learning.

Entry Requirements

Entry to this qualification is limited to those who: Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification in
related fields of study and 3 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of
leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.
or
Have completed a Bachelor degree in related fields of study and 2 years equivalent full-time relevant workplace
experience at a significant level of leadership and management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.
or
Have five years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience at a significant level of leadership and
management responsibility and/or complexity in an enterprise.

Outcome

This course has been designed to suit the needs of those who wish to complete program management and work within the various Business sectors in various Program management roles.

Tuition Fee Payment

Career Development and Training College collect student fees in advance and therefore it will comply with the following options for initial and continuing fee collection and registration:

1. Students, or the person responsible for paying the tuition fees, can now choose to pay more than 50 percent of their tuition fees before they start their course;

2. Career Development and Training College cannot require students to pay more than 50% of their tuition fees before they start the course;

3. A payment plan for any outstanding fees can be negotiated and will be detailed on a separate document.

Certification

All assessments must be completed successfully for the issue of a certificate for BSB80320 - Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership. Completion of less than all UOC will see a Statement of Attainment issued. All financial payments must be completed before any certification is issued.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Assessment

CDT will use a combination of assessment methods and approaches which will involve collecting a range of evidence for ensuring consistency of competency. Assessment may include a combination of various styles of assessments to be completed in-class or online.

Course Conduct

A students’ program is considered to have completed of a successful academic program with a determination of COMPETENT in 8 Units of Competency over a period of 130 study weeks.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL Assessment Fee $150.00 - for initial review. 

is the formal recognition of the skills and knowledge a person has regardless of how or where these skills may have been attained, that is, through formal or informal training work experience, (paid and unpaid) voluntary work and life experience. The evidence provided for RPL must address the currency of competencies being assessed. CDT confirms that all students, potential or actual, of all offered accredited courses are provided with full recognition of their current skills and knowledge. CDT promotes acknowledgment of 'non-traditional' forms of learning as valid pathways for recognition of competency achievement during the RPL assessment process. RPL will result in exemptions and it can be determined by applying for an application from your agent or directly from CDT.

Re-Assessment

Where a student fails one (1) or more assessment methods within a single Unit of Competency (UOC), they are to be re-assessed once, free of charge, and this must be completed within the immediate operational term or as soon as possible following that term, as per Career Development and Training’s re-assessment policy.

If the student does not pass one (1) or more re-assessment methods following the free re-assessment period they are to be offered two (2) more opportunities for re-assessment, with the provision, that they must be charged a fee for each opportunity within the immediately following term or as soon as possible following that term.
